Neilson Carlin
While earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of
the Arts in Philadelphia, Neilson was fortunate to study under
Martha Erlebacher and Renee Foulks, both leading contemporary figure
painters. He concluded his studies privately with New York figure
painter and instructor Michael Aviano. Through Aviano, star pupil of

his instructional lineage directly to the Ecole des Beaux-Arts of
19th century France. Motivated by interests in theology and
philosophy, Neilson uses allegory to create paintings that reflect
sacred themes fundamental to the human experience. Neilson works
with both the Renaissance Portrait Studio and The Brandywine Atelier
School of Classical Painting in Kennett Square, Pa. His paintings
are found in private and corporate collections including MBNA
America, Genesis Health Ventures, The Bayard-Taylor Memorial Library

Chris Chadwick Even before receiving his
degree in Graphic Design ,Chris had chosen to focus on watercolor as
his medium of choice, taking classes at the Chester County Art
Association and the University of the Arts. Much of his
learning, however came (and still comes) from trial and error as he
sought to develop a style using a combination of loose, spontaneous
washes and realistic detail to express his emotional response to the
world around him. "Nature is to me a constant reminder of an
intelligent and loving Creator. Attempting to capture even
just a hint of the beauty I see is my way of showing my appreciation
for His creation." Chris currently teaches watercolor and
mixed media at Chester County Art Association. |

Jack R. Kaiser
Watercolor has been Jack R. Kaiser's
medium since he began painting. Without any artistic academics
to guide or hinder his approach, Kaiser learned from his affinity
for images, illustrations, pictures, and photos. Sketching was
a family past time growing up in the Kaiser house. As a
self-taught artist, Kaiser has developed a style which has grown
deeper and richer over the years. What often looks like detail
or fine textures is actually layers of contrasting washes.
Subject and light are the criteria for Kaiser's paintings. His
subject matter ranges from sunlit woods, bowls of fruit, golden
maples, snowbound farms, lines of laundry, pensive fishermen, to
open windows and doors. Since 2002 Kaiser has ventured into
watercolor and acrylic non-representational works. This has
been wonderfully freeing and successful for him. Kaiser works
can be found at many regional art shows and in many private and
corporate collections including the "Lindfest Collection." |
